COMMENTS: The service and life of Noah Richard Brogdon (1830 ??? 1862) seems fairly well documented in Gwinnett County, Georgia and as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 42nd Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry. The problem arises with a potentially second Noah Brogdon (Private in the 9th Georgia Artillery) with service cards present both during the service period of Lieutenant Noah Brogdon (who died late June of 1862 of disease at Cumberland Gap) and after the Lieutenant???s death. He appears on a Company Muster Roll for 1 Jul to 1 Nov 1863 and a Receipt Roll for Clothing 25 July 1864.
The proof of the existence of a second Noah Brogdon is further complicated by the lack of Census appearances of Noah Brogdon (only once in 1860 that I could find) plus the fact that there apparently is no record of a Pension Application for a Noah Brogdon.
