I am looking for information on my 4th great-grandfather, Jessie Franklin DeShong, brother Jessie, and their families - who settled in Gwinnett in 1840. Their father, Lewis DeShong, joined them in 1842, and brought the rest of the family. They had a large farm in Gwinnett, part of which is now DeShong Park. There are 5 family members buried somewhere on what was once the DeShong family farm. Specifically, Minerva Boyles DeShong (Jessie's first wife) died 1841-2, Jessie's toddler son, James Dickey DeShong, died 1843, Jessie's mother, Elizabeth Rhody DeShong, died 1847. Also buried with them are Jim Wallace and Basil DeShong, nephew of Jessie DeShong. I've been told, these Family members buried in the Chandler-Rice Cemetery in Stone Mountain, because the original family farm was huge, and the original homestead might be in Stone Mountain ( but can't find anyone to verify that). The 1850 Federal Census, lists him as living in Goldstones, Gwinnett, Georgia.

I am looking for these 5 family graves, and any information on the rest of the DeShong Family, who stayed on the family farm, after Jessie moved to Florida around 1860.
