Portraits of Jacob Marquis Ambrose & Mary Jane Cain Puckett Ambrose – Jacob (1826 – 1904) came to Lawrenceville from Oglethorp County. He had 18 children, 7 from his 1846 marriage to Florinda H. Snellings and 11 from his 1860 marriage to Mrs. Mary Jane Cain Puckett (1840 – 1897). He married third to Mrs. Carrie Stephens. Jacob and Mary Jane are buried in Shadowlawn Cemetery. Jacob owned the Elisha Winn house from the 1870s to 1890 and sold it to Jack L. Sims., his son-in-law.
