For those of you who do not know me, may name is Steve Starling.
I am a 9th generation Gwinnettian, a Philadelphia Winn lifetime member
of GHS, a
charter Charter member of First Families of Gwinnett, and I served as
vice-president
of the society in 2005, president in 2006 & 2007. I am also active in the Button Gwinnett
Chapter,
Sons of the
American Revolution, and I serve as the City of Grayson Historian,
and
am currently
working on a book outlining the history of Grayson. I am an active
member
at Shiloh
Primitive Baptist Church in Loganville, Georgia.
I am so honored to be the
new Vice President for the historical society.
I am looking forward to my
tenure. The speakers for each are listed on the
calendar.
I will be in search of interesting speakers and
subjects to further interest in
the GHS and our monthly meetings.
We have many new and exciting projects planned for this year and already
time is
slipping away. I urge each one of you to become involved in the society.
Only through
individual talents working as a team can the work we accomplish be so
singularly fulfilling. I look forward to your assistance in maintaining the
integrity of our
history and achieving our mission.
